What are your specs?

Postby Lt.Gen.xXHeAdShOtXx » Wed Oct 10, 2012 4:51 am

What are your computer's specs? I'm interested to here what some of the people here use for gaming. I recently bought a $3000 (Australian dollars) laptop. It's a Toshiba Qosmio (pronounced Cosmio) and these are my specs:

Operating System: Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Manufacturer: Toshiba
System Model: Qosmio X870
Screen and Resolution: 17.3" Widescreen full HD (1920 x 1080) with 3D LED Backlit Display
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-3610QM CPU @ 2.30 GHz (8CPUs)
RAM: 16GB
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670M 3GB
Storage: 1.75TB (Hybrid 750GB (7200rpm) + 8G SSD) + (1TB 5400rpm SATA) the Hybrid 750GB is like a SSD and a HDD, has the performance of SSD and capacity of HDD
Supports 3D gaming so it came with epic glasses :D
2 webcams: 1 normal and 1 3D
It also has a red backlit keyboard which looks pretty epic when all the lights in my room are off :D

Well that's my specs. I am pretty happy with it seeing as it's a laptop. What are your specs?

Here are some pictures of it that I found on the Toshiba website:

1Tb 7200 RPM HDD
240Gb SSD
1Gb Radeon HD 6980
(6 Cores)Hex Core CPU @ 3.3 Ghz, w/ Core Unlock
8 Gb DDR3 RAM

You have a nice laptop, but unless you do video editing, it's a waste.. I do Photoshopping a lot and I don't even use up 80% of my 8 Gb of RAM.

Just type in "run" , or "search" bar ;;; dxdiag

System ($800 - 2009) (had to send it back 2 times, as the Asus MoBo didn't jive with Win7) ;;;
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883241021

Display ($250 - 2011);;;
http://www.asus.com/Display/LCD_Monitors/VH238H/#specifications

I had a power strip, not a surge protector a while back, lightening struck 2 blocks away and made my motherboard go "ZAP", so had to install a new one, even did it myself. Now, I have a APC fancy surge protector that even insures my electronics ;)

Here's how I keep it clean.

I bought this laptop for $3000 when it first came out so its probably cheaper now. Google "Toshiba Qosmio" and go to the Toshiba website. The most high performance Toshiba laptop is the Qosmio series. You can also customise the laptops to your preferences.

Uff dah, hard to justify that much for me. I'll wait a year and buy a used one, and it will still be an upgrade to me lol
