I have not yet popped the bubble wrap :)

I have a 3-month warranty, then the bubble wrap may become a funny youtube video putting it to the test by a 250 lb guy  Since there seems to be an interest. It's really thick plastic too, I may have to jump out of a 2nd story window to pop it. But I wont. We shall seeeee

I'm loving the ASUS, it works ok if I don't update to service pack 2 (vista) ... but if I update to that pack, then I have shutdown issues. I go to start-shutdown and windows goes away, but the screen stays lit, all lights and hard drive stays alive too. Then I have to hold the power button down for 5 seconds to kill it off.

I did a recovery and have not upgraded to SP2 yet, and things are going fine ... at first I thought it was a firefox issue, but I'm starting to think SP2 is the culprit.

I still have yet to try DOD on it, my powerhouse desktop still holds my heart for that (and there's no where to set my beer on the laptop ha)

Sounds like you just need an updated ACPI (Advanced Configuration and Power Interface) driver. Probably Asus's web site has one for you.

Is there a tutorial, or more info you know of for this?
Strange, ASUS isn't even answering on this one. I'm still running SP1 atm.
