Logo for assaultweaponmyths.com

Postby Gen.Jersey » Mon Aug 12, 2013 4:19 am

Which of these two logos do you prefer?

How could either of these logos be improved on?

These are (obviously) for a new site I am working on, AssaultWeaponMyths.com, which will debunk all of the misinformation concerning so-called "assault weapons".

Thanks for your help.

I like the lower one better. Hits you in the face better, especially for the gun hating crowd.

Do the circles have any special meaning or is it just esthetic? I was confused first to see them in combination with weapons^^

I think the circles are there to highlight the areas on the firearm that he's going to focus on to make his point.

I'm leaning towards this one, as I think it combines the best of the two original logos I created.

Yes the circles highlight the features that define an "assault weapon" under the Clinton-era ban, the current state-level bans in CA/NY/NJ/etc., and the new 2013 federal ban proposed by Dianne Feinstein.

In the AR-15 pictured, they are the collapsible stock, pistol grip, standard-capacity magazine, bayonet lug, and flash hider. All of these, at worst, do not alter the basic functioning of the rifle, and some even contribute towards safer usage and storage of them.

For example, the proponents of banning "assault weapons" say that collapsible or folding stocks make the rifles easier to conceal, but what they fail to realize is that by reducing the overall length of a rifle, it will fit into a smaller safe. Gun safes large enough for full-length rifles and shotguns are extraordinarily expensive, costing several thousands of dollars, while a smaller one that can safely store a gun with the stock collapsed or folded costs only a few hundred dollars. By banning collapsible and folding stocks, you have just made it less likely that the gun can be properly secured against unauthorized use or theft.

On AWM Website:

When Advertising Off-site:

.com, on the site itself isn't necessary.

Also, there is something wrong with the font for, "Myths".

It just looks off and weird.

Other than that, the logo looks nice. Simple yet effective. Colors are good too.

That's just how the font writes the letter M. It's not noticeable unless you look very closely.
