My top 5, all are highly recommended:

A Game of Thrones

The Man in the High castle on Amazon Video
What if the Nazis would have won WWII?
A nice dystopia series based on the book with the same title.

Black Mirror on Netflix
All about future technologies and their effect on society. Since all episodes are stand alone works, you can watch it whenever you want without having the plot in mind.

Marco Polo on Netflix
Reminded me of GoT, though it doesn't dive into Fantasy. Unfortunately, it just lasted for 2 seasons and was cancelled afterwards since Netflix had a loss of USD 200mio.

Mr. Robot on Amazon Video
A brilliant hacker series which doesn't get too far away from 'actual hacking'.
Not like e.g. Live Free or Die Hard

Stargate SG-1
Star Trek (all of them, but The Next Generation and Deep Space 9 are my favorites)
Doctor Who (all but Peter Capaldi, the older series are pretty quirky but fun, Matt Smith and David Tennant are my favorites)
Jericho
NCIS
Prison Break
Stranger Things
Smallville (the first few seasons are pretty teen angsty, but later on it gets much more serious)
Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
Numb3rs
The Magicians
My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic

Mostly in agreement, but Matt Smith's not great. Tom Baker any day.

Completely forgot about Stranger things! Can't believe we have to wait until halloween for season 2.
