Are they real, as in 70 years old and still working real?

I'm assuming the MP 40, StG 44, and MG 42 are all semi-automatic only, correct?

Are they capable of live fire or only blanks?

all my weapons i have are in good to mint condition, that can fire live fire and blank fire. and yes it is pretty costly when it comes to ammo and blanks, but i do feel it is worth it to hear the sound of a mg42.

Guys pre 1982 full auto firearms can be owned by civilians in the USA with just a bit of paperwork, a background check (maybe not in Arizona.) and a tax stamp. It's not all that hard to get them.

Very impressive collection, as a Canadian I'm just drooling until I can find a range then I have to do the paperwork. I could get a license for just long guns right now, but I have to do training and its cheaper to do both courses at once and apply for my long gun license and pistol/ cool stuff license at once.

Pre-1986, but you are correct. The prices are absolutely ridiculous though...an MG 42 in good condition can sell for well over $30,000. The cheapest full-auto guns you'll find today cost several thousand dollars -- a full-auto MAC-10 machine pistol can cost $4,000.

It's a simple matter of supply and demand. The supply is limited, and will continue to become even more limited as older guns break down beyond repair.

I had the privilege to fire an MG 42 a couple of years ago at a machine gun shoot (along with several other full-auto guns as well). It was an incredible experience.
